St. Francis Bay offers both canal and river to be uniquely explored on boat cruises. Canal cruises typically focus on the opulent homes and activities around the canals, while river cruises on the Kromme River offer a chance to relax.fish, view wildlife, and potentially picnic and swim.

Hiking trails
The St Francis area, encompassing St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis, is a haven for nature lovers and hikers, boasting several distinct nature reserves, each with its own unique charm and a network of trails catering to various fitness levels. These reserves protect the remarkable biodiversity of the region, part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, known for its exceptional variety of fynbos and other indigenous plants, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.
Within the Nature Reserves (Managed by FOSTER - Friends of St Francis Nature Areas) trails are offered through diverse landscapes, including rocky shores, beaches, salt-stunted vegetation, dune fynbos, thickets, and small patches of dune forests. Other Notable Hiking Trails:
Two Harbours Walk : This scenic trail, approximately 2km long, connects the old NSRI harbor at Granny's Pool with the working harbor at Port St Francis.
A Walk on the Wild Side : Starting from Cape St Francis, this easy out-and-back coastal walk can be extended up to 9km, allowing you to explore the rugged coastline and enjoy the natural beauty.
Chokka Trail : For a more immersive experience, the Chokka Trail is a multi-day (4 days/3 nights) slackpacking hike that meanders between Oyster Bay, Cape St Francis, and St Francis Bay.
Adventure
The St Francis area offers a vibrant range of adventure sports. You can experience unique frogging safaris (Dune Ridge at +27 42 294-1560) to discover local amphibian life. The area's beaches and winds are ideal for kite surfing. Dramatic dunes provide opportunities for sandboarding (All Africa Adventures) Calm canals and bays are perfect for SUP and kayaking (board and kayakrentals 6312.co.za: +27 83 945 6804), while the renowned waves, especially at Bruce's Beauties, attract surfers of all levels.
Ziplining
The waterfall and ziplining venue is located a short drive outside of Jeffreys Bay, approximately 15-20 minutes from the town. It's situated on a farm in a protected valley along the Kabeljous River.
